About Us
Who are We?
Simcoe Gospel Chapel is an independent church originating from the Plymouth Brethren Movement. It operates autonomously, free from the oversight of any other religious institutions. The main goals of the church are to evangelize non-believers and to support the spiritual growth of its members. Simcoe Gospel Chapel is not-for-profit–oriented; any financial surplus is directed towards its missions and goals. Furthermore, the church is not affiliated with any particular sect or denomination, striving instead to demonstrate the unity of the Christian faith by working together with various Christian churches, groups, and organizations.
Mission Statement:
We at the Simcoe Gospel Chapel are an assembly of believers that gather weekly to worship God. We exist to glorify God through making disciples of Jesus Christ by the same transforming love and grace He shows us. We strive to deepen our relationships with God and each other; grow in faith; serve God, each other, and the community we live in; and reach the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Matthew 28:19-20
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Matthew 22:37-39
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38This is the first and great commandment. 39And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Our Values:
GOD CENTRED - Our ministry and our lives are focused on God and His influence and guidance in our lives. We should constantly be seeking His Will. Matthew 22:37-38
GOSPEL ORIENTED - We preach the gospel, Christ crucified and resurrected and the necessity of salvation for every person. 1 Corinthians 1:23-24, 1 Peter 1:3
TRANSFORMATIONAL BIBLE TEACHING - We believe that the Scripture holds the power to change lives. Every aspect of our ministry should involve His Word. 2 Timothy 2:2
CHRISTIAN PRACTICES - We practice baptism by immersion as an identifying mark of believers and we celebrate the Lord's Supper (Communion) every week. Acts 2:37-38, 1 Corinthians 11:26
WORSHIP - We believe that worship is an offering to God. It is relevant, life changing, and fills our lives. Our worship should be biblical and conservative, that is, honouring to His name. John 4:24
FELLOWSHIP - We believe that building relationships is important to support, encourage, and build community. Acts 2:42
DISCIPLESHIP - We believe that every believer should be discipled through God's Word, whether through one-on-one, Bible studies, or the preaching of God's Word from the pulpit. Ephesians 4:11-13, Matthew 28:19-20.
COMMUNITY OF GRACE - We believe that everyone should come as they are but allow God to change their lives so that they don't leave the same. Matthew 2:39, Colossians 3:12-17
CHRIST-LIKE LIVING - We believe that our daily lives should reflect Christ in all we say and do. Galatians 2:20
